Rihanna Star Persona Analysis

Dress: Her dress has changed through the years has she has developed as a star, from an innocent young girl to an R&B Punk who dresses a lot more seductive and revealing. For her first two albums Rihanna wore typical pop outfits and dresses, but her third album titled ''Good Girl Gone Bad'' shows the transition between her innocent persona and her new, more rebellious and seductive, dressing more suggestively.














Product Image: Rihanna has had a different product image throughout her career changing her image most recently in 2009. She started of with her product being very pop like in her first three albums although none of these had a reoccurring theme. Whereas in 2009 with her ''Rated R'' album, Rihanna introduced her motif as the R that recurs in her other album ''Talk That Talk'', and also on most of her merchandise and her website.


Here you can see that Rihanna's website and merchandise share the same R logo.




Audience: From her first album to her most recent album her fans have either developed with her or left her, as these days her new audience is more based from R&B whereas it used to be within the pop genre. This transition is quite common for artists as when they mature so does their music, the die hard fans also will go through this transition in order to continue to follow her. This Transition probably picked up a lot of new fans.

Video Style: Through most of Rihanna's career her music videos have been focused on objectifying her but as her career has gone on her outfits and actions in these videos have become more and more sexually suggestive.
