Digipack Research and Ideas

Research:
We have looked at a number of different examples of digipack's from various artists to see what things are common and what look professional artists go for. First of, we looked at the artist who originally sung the song that we used in our video Passenger and look at the digipack that was used for his first album "All The Little Lights". The pictures below are of the front and back cover of the album "All The Little Lights" by Passenger and you can see that the trend of the front cover carries on round to the back of the digipack which gives Passenger his own identity which the public will recognise and identify as him. Also his website uses the same style of picture that the album uses which you can see below and they have purposefully done this as it helps the public to associate the image with Passenger and his album.

We will hopefully take some inspiration from this and do the same thing by having similar images on both our front cover of our digipack and our magazine advert as this will an image of our artist to be created and it also means that people will recognise these images as something associated with our artist.

Back Cover                 Front Cover

The two images you can see are the front cover of Rihanna's unapologetic album (top) and a poster showing Rihanna's Diamonds tour locations and days below it. You can see that both of these things have common themes in them such as the same image and the same font of writing on her body which helps for her star person and image to be created. The image that is used is one that is used throughout all of Rihanna's unapologetic range of merchandise including the album and posters hence why they have used this image in the poster as a lot of people will recognise this image as something to do with Rihanna and it is something personal to her image. But this image is a great example of one of Goodwin's points as it shows voyeurism as Rihanna is shown with no clothes on with only her arm and writing over her breasts. The font is also something that runs throughout Rihanna's unapologetic range which is a brilliant way to publicise her as this font is personal to her and specifically this album so whenever people see this font they know that they are reading or looking at something that is associated with Rihanna. This font runs throughout her merchandise such as t shirts, hoodies and posters so that her image is branded in various different ways giving her more publicity. The 'R' you can see in the poster is something that Rihanna has been associated with since 2009 which means that whenever anyone see this Rihanna is the first thing that comes into your head which is what they wanted from this as it is a good way to give her something small personal to her which is a good way to give her publicity.
